Combining two of my skills – opera and marketing – to hone a new skill…

Video production.

While at Classic FM, I had the chance to work as the lead producer for two creative video ideas. Both projects involved interviewing opera singers and compiling their answers into a final edit that was engaging, informative, and high-performing.

The famously fiendish ‘Queen of the Night’ Aria…

… as explained by soprano Rachel Duckett, who performed this popular aria from Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute at Classic FM Live in April 2024. There, I got to interview her, asking questions that get at how on earth she sings this notoriously difficult piece. I was happy to produce this creative vision, as my first time producing anything, but also, selfishly, as a way to take notes… given that I’m a soprano myself!

Breaking down the baritone voice, with star German singer Benjamin Appl…

…was so much fun! As part of Classic FM’s ‘Discover’ video series, I got to interview Benjamin, asking him all about the baritone voice, including repertoire, range, legacy, etc. It was fun to learn from him and produce a video edit that appealed to our audience of music nerds (myself included).
